Gallagher Square Concert Tickets

Start with our Gallagher Square tickets guide. For a general overview, read our Petco Park concert ticket guide. For details on a specific show, check the individual Petco Park concert listings on this site or visit ticket vendors for prices and availability.

You don't need a Padres ticket. Your concert ticket is your ticket in.

Gallagher Square Capacity & Layout

Gallagher Square holds more than 6,000 people for concerts. The outdoor space covers 2.8 acres and sits behind the Petco Park scoreboard. The Sycuan Stage was the first outdoor concert venue of its kind built inside a Major League Baseball ballpark.

The space got a full renovation before the 2024 season. That added tiered lawn seating, the raised Tony Gwynn Terrace, and a big videoboard on the Sycuan Stage. VIP areas vary by show, so check what your ticket includes.

It's big enough for national tours and small enough that there's no bad spot to stand. Compare that to a stadium show, where the back rows are watching the screens.

Entrance Gates & Bag Policy

For Gallagher Square concerts, use the Balboa Gate at 9th Avenue and J Street. It's not the main stadium gates. If you show up at Park Blvd or Home Plate, you're walking around the block. Here's the entrance gate map.

Doors
Usually 60-90 minutes before showtime. Each show's guide has exact times. Load your mobile tickets before you reach the gate, and bring ID if it's an 18+ or 21+ show or you plan to drink.

No re-entry. Once you're scanned, you're in for the night. More on in-and-out privileges.

Bags
Only single-compartment clear plastic bags up to 12" x 6" x 12", clutches and purses up to 5" x 7", and infant and medical bags. No backpacks, no Camelbaks. Full details on the Petco Park bag policy page. Brought the wrong bag? Lock & Go lockers sit outside several gates, including the Balboa Gate, at a flat $14 (as of 2026 and subject to change). The Padres say they may not be available for non-baseball events, so don't count on one. See our lockers guide.

Leave these at home
Umbrellas, lawn chairs, outside food and drinks (including sealed water bottles and empty reusable ones), gum, signs and banners, and glass. Petco Park is smoke-free, but there are designated smoking areas at the main gates. See what you can bring and the complete Petco Park concert rules. EDM shows have their own rules.

Parking

First, here are driving directions to Petco Park. View our comprehensive guide to finding nearby parking or simply reserve a parking space in advance.

Parking Tips
Some of the most convenient, affordable fixed-rate parking lots are 6th & K Parkade and Park It On Market. Being right next to the stadium can result in a post-concert traffic nightmare. If you are up for it, a short walk will go a long way.

Getting There

The best way to get to a concert at Gallagher Square is the trolley. Three stations serve Petco Park: 12th & Imperial, Park & Market, and Gaslamp Quarter. Occasions like this are when San Diego public transportation shines. Avoid parking. Partake in beer.

Other options: the Coaster, the bus, or Uber and Lyft. The designated rideshare zone is on Harbor Drive at Park Boulevard, across from the Hilton Bayfront. Take the pedestrian sky bridge to and from the ballpark, and expect surge pricing right after the show. Here's our full public transportation guide.

Park & Ride
If you need to drive part of the way, park at Old Town Transit Center and hop on.

Food & Drink

One doesn't usually plan to eat a full meal at a concert. But this is Petco Park. A portion of the normal stadium food and drink concessions will be open and accessible. Hot dogs, Hodad's burgers, lemonade, etc. Head toward Right Field, which will be on your left facing the stage.

No outside food or drinks, and that includes sealed water bottles. Petco Park is cashless, so bring a card or phone pay. Only have cash? Reverse ATMs near sections 108, 135, 208 and 303 (and in the Ticket Office lobby) turn it into a prepaid card. You'll need a valid ID to buy alcohol.

Thirsty? Here's the Petco Park beer guide.

Restrooms

There are stadium restroom facilities available for use, ample and clean. They're in the same area under the Right Field seats, to the left of the stage. Lines peak right before the headliner and right after. Time it between sets.

Accessibility

Accessible seating comes in wheelchair, semi-ambulatory and transfer categories. Call the Padres at 619-795-5555 when you buy. Guest Services has a center in Gallagher Square that handles questions, wheelchair storage and KultureCity sensory bags. First Aid locations can move for concerts, so ask any staff member.

For accessible viewing areas and accommodations, see our wheelchair and accessibility guide or contact the venue before the show.

Weather & What to Wear

There's no roof here. Early door times can mean full sun, so bring sunglasses and sunscreen. Once the sun drops, it cools off fast this close to the bay. Bring a layer, even in summer. Concerts are rain or shine, and umbrellas aren't allowed, so if rain is in the forecast, bring a poncho. Wear shoes you can stand in for four hours. Check the weather before you go.

Kids & Age Limits

Age policies vary by show. Some are all-ages, some are 18+ or 21+. Check the ticket listing before you buy. If you're bringing kids to an all-ages show, bring ear protection. It's loud. More in our kids and family guide.

Before & After the Show

Gallagher Square sits on the edge of East Village with the Gaslamp Quarter a few blocks away. That gives you plenty of options for dinner before and a drink after. Gallagher Square shows usually wrap by 10pm, so there's time for a drink after. Waiting out the post-show traffic at a nearby bar beats sitting in it. More on concert end times.
