About the xperimenting Tour

The xperimenting tour is a 17-date U.S. headlining run supporting xperiment, Ken Carson’s fifth studio album, released July 3 on Opium/Interscope. The album opened with nearly 16 million first-day streams and features collaborations with Playboi Carti, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, and Destroy Lonely. The tour kicks off August 26 in Chicago and wraps September 23 in San Francisco — making San Diego the second-to-last night of the entire run. Carson is also releasing a new mixtape, cartunez, this summer, so expect the setlist to be loaded with brand-new material.

About Ken Carson

Ken Carson is a multi-platinum Atlanta rapper and one of the defining artists of the rage-rap era. Signed to Playboi Carti’s Opium label, Carson broke through with A Great Chaos and hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 2025’s More Chaos. His sound is built on distorted, high-BPM production and relentless energy — this is not a stand-and-nod hip-hop show.

His live reputation matches the records: sold-out headline runs across Europe and the UK, festival-closing sets, and crowds that treat every song like the drop. For a Sunday night at Gallagher Square, expect one of the most physical hip-hop shows the venue hosts all year.

The Lineup

Prettifun and Xaviersobased — two of the most talked-about names in the underground internet-rap scene — provide support, with DJ Moon rounding out the bill. If you’re into where rap is headed rather than where it’s been, show up early.

What to Expect

Crowd Dynamics & Mosh Pits

Ken Carson crowds mosh. Hard. The general admission floor directly in front of the stage will be a high-energy, high-contact zone for most of the set. If you’d rather watch than get thrown around, hang toward the perimeter of the lawn or the elevated terrace areas — the sightlines hold up well throughout Gallagher Square.

September Weather

September evenings in San Diego are about as good as outdoor concert weather gets — mid-70s during the day, cooling into the 60s after sunset. Bring a light layer for the end of the night.

About Gallagher Square
