Ken Carson’s xperimenting tour brings the rapper’s high-energy live show to Petco Park as part of a national run through August and September. The San Diego date comes near the end of the tour, with Carson scheduled to play San Francisco just three days later.

If you’d rather have some breathing room, move toward the edges of Gallagher Square. You’ll give up some proximity to the stage, but you can still get a good view without being in the middle of the action.

September Weather

September is one of the better months for an outdoor concert in San Diego. Temperatures typically cool after sunset, but Gallagher Square can still feel warm while the crowd is packed in. A light layer is a good idea for the walk home.

Concert entry is through the Balboa Gate on J Street. Check your ticket and the venue’s event information before leaving for the show in case entry procedures change.

Parking

Parking downtown can get expensive, particularly when multiple events are happening at Petco Park on the same day. September 20 is one of those days: the Padres play the Marlins at 1:10 PM before the Ken Carson show that evening.

For the best chance of finding a convenient and reasonably priced space, compare nearby garages and lots before you leave rather than simply pulling into the first garage you see.
