A surprisingly common question for a baseball game is: Can you bring your dog to Petco Park? Despite the name and the high pup population in San Diego, the answer is, in most cases, no. Padres fans wondering whether the Petco brand will loosen animal restrictions at the gate will be disappointed to learn that Fluffy and Fido must stay at home. Only service animals (i.e. seeing-eye dogs) are allowed in.
When can I bring my dog to Petco Park?
While dogs are not allowed at the games as a rule, there are a few exciting exceptions:
Are dogs allowed in Gallagher Square?
When the
Park at the Park / Gallagher Square is open to the public, pets are welcome within the scope of the City of San Diego’s leash laws.
Service Animals
Service animals are welcome guests at Petco Park. The Padres adhere with U.S.
ADA regulations and allow dogs to attend Padres games with their owners so long as they are trained to do work or tasks specifically related to the owner’s needs. To be sure, this does not include providing emotional support or companionship.
