Tape B (born Kemal Berk Alkanat) has become one of bass music’s most exciting new voices by bridging generations of electronic music. The 26-year-old Florida producer blends the nostalgia of early 2010s dubstep with contemporary bass and hip-hop, creating a sound he calls “Old School x New School.”
Born in Turkey and raised in the U.S. from age three, Alkanat started producing at 16 while studying at the University of Central Florida. Influenced by early hip-hop (Rae Sremmurd, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Wayne) and electronic pioneers like UKF and The Glitch Mob, he spent years developing his craft before a 2019 experience at Lost Lands Music Festival sparked his professional career.
The breakthrough came during the pandemic when Alkanat moved home to Boca Raton and found his signature sound—drippy bass flips of classic hip-hop tracks mixed with OG dubstep wobbles. His SoundCloud mixes went viral, and the iconic “Yo, Tape B, show ‘em how it’s done” tag (inspired by TroyBoi) became recognizable across festivals worldwide.
Tape B’s rise has been rapid. His collaboration “Trippy Land” with Mersiv and Juicy J legitimized his crossover between bass music and hip-hop, while remixes and originals like “Gas Pedal” (with John Summit) have earned support from Zeds Dead, Excision, Liquid Stranger, and Griz.
He’s performed at major festivals including Lost Lands, Imagine Festival, Moonrise, Suwannee Hulaween, and Goldrush, and recently guested on Zeds Dead’s DEADBEATS RADIO with six unreleased tracks. With over 678,000 monthly Spotify listeners and a growing following, Tape B was just announced as co-headliner for the massive Summer Program Tour 2026 alongside Levity—a 12-city amphitheater run spanning July through August.
What sets Tape B apart is his ability to make you feel nostalgic and blown away simultaneously. He spaces out his signature “yoys” (wobbles) strategically, drawing inspiration from artists like Claybrook, SVDDEN DEATH, Space Laces, Getter, and REZZ—not to copy their sound, but to learn how they create atmosphere. The result is bass music that hits hard while pulling at your memories of early dubstep’s golden era.
This stacked bill features four additional bass music artists:
daily bread – Known for blending hip-hop, soul, and electronic production into soulful, groove-heavy sets
Truth – New Zealand dubstep duo bringing deep, dark, meditative bass music
Super Future – High-energy bass producer with a focus on melodic dubstep and future bass
Cozykev – Rising bass artist known for genre-blurring experimental sounds
