Petco Park was built for baseball. It has been home to the National League West San Diego Padres since 2004. But, with only 81 home games a year (plus playoffs? Anyone…?), that leaves a great chunk of opportunity for events at Petco Park in between games during baseball season, in the offseason and throughout the year. Scheduling additional concerts and events in the stadium benefits the city, local businesses, tourism and San Diego residents.

Sports and Special Events

In addition to baseball (view Padres home schedule) and music, Petco Park has been the host stadium for many sports and special events, including soccer, rugby, tennis (US vs Great Britain on clay in the outfield for the 2013 Davis Cup), golf, basketball (San Diego Toreros and the San Diego State Aztecs as part of the Bill Walton Basketball Festival in 2015), Monster trucks, Supercross Motorcross and even a rodeo.
