For Padres games and most other events, Gallagher Square is general admission, first-come-first-served, standing room only. Read more about lawn seat tickets for baseball games and the view from Gallagher Square.
The recent renovations at Petco Park have transformed Gallagher Square into a legitimate, high-tier concert venue. While historically fully general admission for concerts, the addition of reserved seating sections has significantly changed the experience and creates distinct advantages for different types of concertgoers.
Check individual concert details to see whether reserved seating sections will be available, as this varies by show.
Location: Flat synthetic turf area directly in front of the stage
The Experience: This is as close as you can get to the artist. A1 and A2 offer the most immersive, high-energy concert experience with optimal audio mix. Perfect for fans who want to feel the music.
Consider: The completely flat turf means sightlines can become challenging toward the back of A2 or outer edges of A3/A4, especially with tall attendees or smartphone forests. These are typically the most expensive tickets.
Location: Landscaped, sloped inclines wrapping around the main turf area
The Experience: The natural amphitheater-style slope provides clear, unobstructed sightlines over the GA crowd and “A” sections. More relaxed atmosphere with easier access to upper concourse amenities. Great for enjoying both the music and the overall concert atmosphere.
Consider: You’re physically further from the stage, so you lose some of the intimate energy of being on the floor.
Location: Raised perimeter along the glass near the Tony Gwynn Terrace
The Experience: Fantastic bird’s-eye panoramic view of the stage, crowd, and downtown San Diego skyline. Separated from the chaos with fastest access to premium bars and restrooms. Ideal for those who prefer a visual and atmospheric experience.
Consider: Furthest from the stage of any reserved section. More about taking in the full concert spectacle than feeling the music’s raw energy.

Choosing Your Section:
For maximum energy: A1 or A2 center floor
For best sightlines: B1 or B2 elevated sections
For atmosphere and comfort: B3 panoramic perch
