Cypress Hill has represented the voice of the streets since 1991, selling over 18 million albums worldwide while pushing rap’s boundaries. The Los Angeles trio—rappers B-Real and Sen Dog, paired with producer DJ Muggs—established themselves as one of hip-hop’s most potent forces with their eponymous debut album.
Their signature sound blended B-Real and Sen Dog’s distinctive voices with DJ Muggs’ atmospheric, piercing, and dusty production. Songs like “How I Could Just Kill a Man” and “Hand on the Pump” announced their arrival, but it was 1993’s Black Sunday that made them superstars.
Black Sunday debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200—the first Latino hip-hop group to achieve this—driven by the crossover smash “Insane in the Brain.” The album went triple platinum and included “I Ain’t Goin’ Out Like That” and “Lick a Shot,” cementing their place in hip-hop history.
Third album III: Temples of Boom (1995) showcased their evolution with darker production and deeper themes. By 1998’s IV, featuring the radio hit “Tequila Sunrise,” they proved their staying power across different eras of hip-hop.
Beyond music, Cypress Hill became cannabis culture ambassadors long before legalization, advocating openly when it was still controversial. They’ve collaborated across genres, toured with rock acts (Lollapalooza veterans), and influenced countless artists. Their bilingual approach and Latino representation in hip-hop opened doors for future generations.
Recent years have seen Cypress Hill remain active with festival appearances worldwide, a 2022 Hollywood Walk of Fame star, and continued touring. They’re hip-hop survivors who never compromised their sound or message.
Cleveland’s Bone Thugs-N-Harmony revolutionized rap with their quick-tongued, harmonizing flow that no group has matched since. Discovered by Eazy-E in the early ’90s, the quintet (Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, and Flesh-n-Bone) brought something entirely new to hip-hop—melodic singing combined with rapid-fire delivery.
Their 1995 album E. 1999 Eternal went 4x platinum, featuring hits like “1st of tha Month” and “Tha Crossroads”—the latter earning them a Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group in 1997. “Tha Crossroads,” a tribute to Eazy-E who died shortly before the video’s release, became one of hip-hop’s most iconic songs.
Bone Thugs are the only rap group to collaborate with Eazy-E, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., and Big Pun—a testament to their universal respect in hip-hop. Their influence on fast rapping and melodic rap is immeasurable, paving the way for artists from Twista to Migos.
In 2026, they’re being honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star, joining an elite list of hip-hop legends. They’re also receiving recognition in Cleveland, where St. Clair Avenue and East 99th Street was renamed “Bone Thugs-n-Harmony Way” in 2023.
Tech N9ne (born Aaron Yates) has built one of hip-hop’s most successful independent careers. The Kansas City rapper’s rapid-fire flow, dark production, and relentless work ethic created Strange Music—one of the most profitable indie labels in hip-hop history.
With over 25 studio albums, Tech N9ne has sold millions of records without major label support. His chopper-style rapping (rapid delivery) and genre-blending approach earned him a devoted fanbase that spans rock, metal, and hip-hop audiences. He’s collaborated with artists ranging from Lil Wayne to Corey Taylor of Slipknot.
Known for constant touring (over 200 shows annually at his peak), Tech N9ne’s live performances are legendary. His technical skill, stage presence, and connection with fans have kept him relevant for over two decades in an industry that often forgets underground artists.
This triple bill represents three different eras and approaches to hip-hop excellence:
Together, they represent over 70 years of combined hip-hop history, multiple Grammys, platinum plaques, and millions of fans worldwide. This is hip-hop at its finest—authentic, influential, and uncompromising.
