Chromeo — Chromeo: A Groove Odyssey

Hailing from the vibrant city of Montreal, Canada, Chromeo is the electrifying electro-funk duo that has been setting dance floors ablaze since their formation in 2002. The duo consists of David “Dave 1” Macklovitch, a Ph.D. holder in French literature and former Columbia University teacher, who effortlessly blends academia with his musical passion through his guitar and lead vocals. Patrick “P-Thugg” Gemayel, the mastermind behind keyboards, synthesizers, and the iconic talk box, completes the dynamic duo.

The Midnight — Hailing from the city of Los Angeles, California, The Midnight is an American synthwave duo, masterfully blending nostalgia and futurism in their musical tapestry. Bandmates Tyler Lyle and Tim McEwan form the creative nucleus. Lyle, an Atlanta-based singer-songwriter, contributes smooth vocals and melancholic storytelling, while McEwan, a Danish-born producer residing in Los Angeles, sculpts the synth-soaked landscapes that define The Midnight’s distinctive sound.

Their musical journey takes root in 2012, a pivotal year marked by a songwriting session inspired by the “Drive” soundtrack and the burgeoning retro synthwave scene.
