Petco Park Netting: Which Padres seats are behind the safety nets?

It’s an age-old trade-off: an entirely unobstructed view versus built-in protection against 120-mph foul balls streaking toward your seat.

Protective safety netting at Petco Park extends down both foul lines, with the height and style of screening varying by area. Sections with direct full-height or angled screening in front of seats include:

• Field VIP 101–106
• Sections 109–110 (Full vertical screen coverage behind the dugouts)
• Sections 111–115 (Odd) on the 1st base side and Sections 112–116 (Even) on the 3rd base side (Angled netting coverage)

About the Netting

The screen reaches a maximum height of 24 feet before tapering along the baselines. The mesh features a thin green finish designed to minimize its visual impact and reduce visual distraction. While view obstruction is minimal, sitting directly behind the net does slightly reduce your odds of snagging a low-line foul ball or toss-up.
