Miniland is always a highlight when visiting Legoland California. Its models create a LEGO-sized world over which humans can tower, featuring everything from the US Capitol Building to the Manhattan skyline to the Las Vegas Strip. While it seemed like they had all the details covered, one thing has always been missing: San Diego.

As you may have heard, Lego brickmasters are hard at work to bring a San Diego exhibit to Legoland. And it would not be San Diego with Petco Park.

Lego Petco Park Unveiled

This month, Legoland unveiled its incredibly detailed Lego Model of Petco Park, to be included in Legoland California’s Miniland U.S.A. The model of the San Diego Padres stadium is made of 150,000 bricks and they say it took 1,200 hours to construct. The work was done by a team of four Master Model Builders.” Details include all the recognizable features such as the Western Metal Supply building and a functioning scoreboard. The game is a 5-3 win over the San Francisco Giants, but a close eye will realize its the line of the famous October 2022 playoff win against the Los Angeles Dodgers (with a 5-run come-from-behind seventh inning). A near (scale) sellout of more than 1,000 cheering LEGO fans are depicted in attendance.

San Francisco is one of the other cities represented in the USA exhibit, along with New York, Washington, D.C. and Las Vegas.

Other Landmarks in San Diego Miniland

In addition to Petco Park, local voters helped Legoland decide which sights would be included: Rady Shell, Hotel Del Coronado, California Tower at Balboa Park, Del Mar Racetrack and Fairgrounds, and scenes from the San Diego coastline.
