Where is Hodad's?

Local institution since 1969, Hodad’s is the archetypal beach burger joint in Ocean Beach. Located just steps from the pounding surf, the laid-back beach atmosphere permeates the establishment. Even the prices are friendly. The burgers themselves are masterpieces, stacked tall with crunchy fixings on a soft bun.

Over the years, the accolades for Hodad’s have piled up like the toppings on their patties. CNN has called them one of the best burgers in the country. They have earned visits from Guy Fieri. And no matter who is doing the talking, they are always in the conversation for San Diego’s best hamburgers.

In 2011, Hodad’s expanded to a second location in the Gaslamp District of San Diego. An approximation of their fine creations can also now be purchased at Petco Park.

New this year: The FTD Burger ($14.99) — a cheeseburger loaded with onion rings, BBQ sauce, mayo, and pickles. All burgers come standard with onions, pickles, tomatoes, and lettuce.

Hodad’s Brewing Company: You’ll also find Hodad’s Brewing beer at these locations, with pours running $17.99. Selection varies but includes options like Surf Punk Lager, Throwback Brown, and Hesher Hazy IPA.

Fun fact: Hodad’s is the only place in Petco Park that sells burgers.
