The Hot Chocolate course is known as San Diego’s sweetest race. The 5K, 10K, and 15K routes for the 2026 Hot Chocolate Run San Diego start and end adjacent to Petco Park (100 Park Blvd), with a variety of sweet surprises along the way. New for 2026: a 10K distance option joins the popular 15K and 5K races. Everyone wins!

GOVX San Diego Half Marathon & 5K

The 15th annual GOVX San Diego Half Marathon and 5K takes place on March 22, 2026. The event includes a half marathon, 5K, and a 2-person half marathon relay, all finishing in the Gaslamp Quarter near Petco Park.

The half marathon course features five miles of waterfront views, four historic communities, three parks, and two miles through downtown San Diego, ending in the Gaslamp. The 5K starts at 6:30 AM, and the half marathon begins at 6:50 AM.

Participants receive a technical fabric short-sleeve shirt, a custom finisher’s medal, and a reusable grocery bag. Proceeds benefit the San Diego Fire-Rescue Foundation.

Curebound Cancer Challenge

The event formerly known as Padres Pedal the Cause has evolved into the Curebound Cancer Challenge. This signature fundraising event brings together thousands of participants each year to raise money for collaborative cancer research, with over $24.5 million raised to date to fund innovative research grants in all types of cancer.

Important Update: While the physical athletic event (featuring cycling, walking, and running options) has moved to UC San Diego for 2026, Curebound continues its partnership with Petco Park through the Concert for Cures featuring P!NK on May 15, 2026.
