About Ballast Point
Ballast Point Brewery was founded in San Diego in 1996 by homebrewing enthusiasts Jack White and Yuseff Cherney. Their shared passion for beer and love of fishing inspired the creation of a wide range of beers, including porters, wheats, ales, and
IPAs that quickly gained popularity among their community. What started as a small group of homebrewers who simply wanted to make great beer evolved into a pioneering brewery that has been rooted in San Diego for 25 years. Ballast Point is proud of their San Diego hometown, their employees, their beers, and their fans, whom they consider to be extended family. Their complete dedication to the craft of brewing can be seen in every aspect of their beer, from bringing a hoppy twist to a porter to creating the breakthrough gold-medal winning Sculpin
IPA.
