The Hot Hen: San Diego's Finest Hot Chicken Sandwich

Posted in 2024 in

Petco Park’s hottest food item last year? The Hot Hen. It’s got everything. Fresno chile slaw. Fuego Sauce. And of course chicken, fried crispy and served on a brioche bun. This year, they’ve added a second outpost in the Mercado.

San Diego’s Finest Hot Chicken

Concessions king Delaware North is dipping its beak into the spicy friend chicken sandwich trend, bringing the new addition San Diego’s Finest Hot Chicken to the San Diego Padres stadium. If you are a heatseaker, or burned out on Friar Franks, it’s worth a visit.

Menu

Wondering what to order? The signature item at San Diego’s Finest Hot Chicken is the Hot Hen, a seasoned chicken sandwich topped with Fresno chile slaw, pickles and fuego sauce served on a brioche bun. You can also try the Cool Hand Luke sandwich, with honey agave dipped breaded chicken breast, pickle and fuego hot sauce on brioche with seasoned fries. Both sandwiches cost $15.50 and come with seasoned fries. Also available: breaded honey-dipped chicken tenders.

Location at Petco Park

San Diego’s Finest Hot Chicken is located in the Padres section 316 and on the 100-level behind home plate. You can also find the Hot Hen served at The Draft by Ballast Point in Section 105.

Visit Draft By Ballast Point in Section 105 for Hot Hen fries – seasoned fries with honey agave-dipped breaded chicken, Hot Hen spice, Fresno chile coleslaw, bread and butter pickles, and fuego hot sauce.
