The US Military presence has shaped San Diego into what it is today. While sometimes major sports throw a nod to our servicemen and servicewomen that feels more like show, in San Diego our pride and gratitude is sincere.
In San Diego, the military is not only our protectors, they are our neighbors, our friends and family. Our workers and our leaders. The military has shaped our landscape and our culture with its key ports, training centers, and the heroes who bring them to life.
Often on these games you will see uniformed military filling entire sections in the upper deck of Petco Park. The team commemorates this with a special Fourth Inning Stretch featuring the Marine Hymn played by stadium organist Bobby Cressey.
