Update: New Payment Option
San Diego’s Metropolitan Transit System (
MTS) and North County Transit District (
NCTD) have introduced a new, simpler way to pay for rides. Now, you can just tap your credit card or smartphone on a reader to pay for your fare, instead of using a physical ticket or transit card. This makes it faster and more convenient to hop on a bus or train. Note: Your Pronto card/app will still work, this is just an additional payment option.
Using PRONTO
PRONTO is a cool upgrade to San Diego County’s questionable-at-times public transportation network. PRONTO was introduced to make transit easy and convenient.

- Find upcoming departures using stop numbers, addresses, or landmarks.
