Bonds Hits #755 at Petco Park

Posted in 2007 in

Although Bochy had him scheduled for rest, bucketheaded homerun phenom Barry Bonds stepped in and clobbered his record-tying 755th home run Saturday August 4.

Bonds of course went on to break Hank Aaron’s record days later in San Francisco.

More on the historic #755:
  • The pitch was the first of the second inning from Clay Hensley
  • The ball travelled 382 feet and landed in the left-field second deck
  • Bonds has hit 87 homers against the Padres in his career, more than any other team
  • Allegations of performance-enhancing drugs have tainted Bonds’ enhanced performance

Ironically, pitcher Clay Hensley served a 15 game suspension in 2005 for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance.

Adam Hughes, 33, of La Jolla, caught the ball on a rebound off an advertising sign. Regardless of what he plans to do with the ball, he will owe the government taxes. Its value is estimated to be between $50,000 – $100,000.
