History

When the San Diego Chargers made plans to relocate to Los Angeles, Mission Valley. State Senator Marty Block proposed a plan for San Diego State University (SDSU) to take over the site, expanding the campus and constructing a new stadium for Aztecs football and a Major League Soccer team. In December 2019, SDSU received a $15 million gift towards financing the new stadium, which would be named Bashor Field at Aztec Stadium. Construction was set to begin in April 2020, with an expected completion before the 2022 season.

Aztecs Football Ticket Prices

Each game of the season is assigned into a Tier category based on the opponent.

Tier 1: UCLA, Boise State — $83 to $250.

Tier 2: Nevada, Utah State, Fresno State, — $40 to $225.

Tier 3: Ohio, Idaho State, — $30 to $200.

Note: While crowds and traffic should be manageable, expect some traffic exiting the stadium during Tier 1 weekends.
