Soccer is returning to Petco Park this summer with the San Diego Clasico in July. Soccer fans will get double value for their money and get see two of Mexico’s best international soccer clubs, Dorados de Sinaloa and Club Tijuana Xolos, playing in a doubleheader. Club Tijuana will face Cruz Azul and then Dorados vs. Club América. The soccer (or futbol) games kick off at 5pm on July 24, 2014.

This will be the fourth time the grass at Petco Park has been graced with the presence of the Beautiful Game of soccer. Last year at the San Diego Clasico, Petco Park hosted a match between the Mexican Liga MX champion Tijuana Xolos and Club America, which the Xolos won 5-2, and in 2005, an international soccer match between Mexico and Sweden.
