San Diego housing developers Cresleigh Homes are set to break ground on a 40-story residential high rise, Revel, near Petco Park in early 2025. Located at 611 Island Ave. (specifically the Ballpark Storage building with its iconic green “Ballpark Self Storage” signage), the Carrier Johnson-developed building will offer 443 units, studios up through three bedrooms, while preserving the historic façade of the 1869 Klauber-Wangenheim Company Building. Emphasizing convenience, energy, and community, Jeremy Lui, director of development for Cresleigh, envisions residents “reveling in all things that make downtown great.” The project aims to promote urban mobility, incorporating Electric Vehicle charging capabilities and prioritizing ride-share programs, public transit, and eco-friendly commuting options. With limited on-site parking, the focus is on sustainable living and contributing to a vibrant community.
