His stage name is inspired by the character “Ace Boogie” from the movie “Paid in Full,” and the “Hoodie” part comes from his habit of wearing hooded sweatshirts. He is known for his melodic rap style and has been a significant figure in the resurgence of melodic rap in the late 2010s.
A Boogie wit da Hoodie has released several successful projects, including his debut studio album “The Bigger Artist” (2017), which included the hit single “Drowning” featuring Kodak Black. His second studio album, “Hoodie SZN” (2018), topped the Billboard 200 chart. He has collaborated with numerous artists across the hip-hop and R&B spectrum and continues to be a prominent name in contemporary hip-hop music.
