What makes Petco Park a definitively San Diego experience? There are five factors. Bear in mind, you are not in Chicago, Boston or New York. Those teams have established roots and traditions long before San Diego was much more than a twinkle in some burro’s eye.

1. The weather. San Diego means sunshine. Most teams have already had more rainouts this season than Petco has had in its existence. The Padres average about one rainout every 6-8 years. Soak up the California sun.


2. The views. Even in the heart of downtown San Diego, its nearly impossible to get to the ballpark without passing a palm tree. Watch planes sail over the skyline over the bleachers, and do some people watching. By the end of the game you’ll be wishing they all could be California girls.


3. The flavors. Every region has its signature food and in San Diego, California, that means Fish Tacos. Close your eyes, open your mind and take a bite. Wash down with Karl Strauss beer!
