Parking/Tailgating

There are 16,500 parking spaces within a reasonable walk (under 20 minutes) to the stadium. City officials expect not more than 10,000 vehicles per game (estimating 3 people per car and 12,000 on public transportation.) For comparison, Qualcomm had a baseball capacity of 67544 fans, and the lot held 18,500 vehicles.

Cost: Parking near the stadium ranges from $12-$17. Spaces are available downtown for as low as $3, but are a considerable distance from the park by foot.

Details: Ace parking lots will open 1 1/2 to 2 hours before gametime. Premium locations will open 3 hours before gametime. All locations will remain open until 2:00 a.m.

Meters: On-street parking is there for those with the luck/patience to find it. Meters cost $1.25 per hour with a maximum of two hours, but become free after 6pm and on Sundays. parking violations cost $30.

Tailgating: Tailgate Park will have room for approximately 1,000 cars. Purchase a ticket ($17) in advance at www.padres.com to reserve a space. Kegs, glass containers and charcoal grills are not be allowed. Alcohol consumption must stop 30 minutes after the game begins.
